Singapore PR processing time: what to expect after you submit
ICA states that PR applications “will be processed within 6 months, provided all the required documents are submitted and are in order. Some applications may take longer to process.” Its Service Commitment lists the same 6-month standard. There is no expedite option, and ICA does not accept a new or repeated application for the same person while one is in process. Status is checked in MyICA; the outcome arrives by e-mail.

While you wait
- Travel: ICA confirms you may leave Singapore while waiting; if approved you must return for the completion of formalities.
- Pass renewals: keep your Employment Pass, S Pass or other pass valid — a pending PR application does not extend a pass.
- Changes in circumstances: a new job, marriage or child does not require withdrawing; ICA may ask for updated documents. If ICA requests information, respond promptly.
- No repeat applications: “New or repeated applications, for the same person(s), will not be accepted while the current application is still in process.”

ICA's wording allows for longer processing and publishes no escalation route. Check MyICA for any request for documents you may have missed, keep your contact details current, and keep your pass valid.
